Biography
Ruby is a graduate of Swarthmore College, where she majored in Political Science and French and Francophone Studies and where she also worked in Admissions from 2011-2016 as Assistant Dean of Admissions. After her time at Swarthmore, Ruby earned an Ed.M. in Higher Education from Harvard University and then joined Barnard’s Office of Admissions in 2017. Ruby is our office's Director overseeing our domestic and international recruitment and our application review processes. Ruby currently serves on the International Association for College Admission Counseling Executive Board as Vice President for Admissions and Enrollment Practices. When she isn’t traveling the world (with her loyal companion, Millie the Bear) in search of prospective Barnard students, Ruby enjoys baking and eating her way through New York City.

Why did you choose to work at Barnard?
I was drawn to Barnard’s mission of empowering extraordinary women to become even more exceptional. I love that everything that we do as a college and as a community serves this mission.
What is your favorite book?
Winnie the Pooh by A.A. Milne
What is your favorite thing to do in NYC?
In addition to exploring the amazing food scene in NYC, I enjoy going to Broadway shows and am also an annual US Open attendee.
What is your favorite place on campus?
I love the view from the top of Sulzberger Hall.
What is a random fun fact about yourself?
I am an avian enthusiast.
